People saying they don't understand how anyone can ship X ship. Who cares? People like different things.

There are times I really don't get ships, but I rarely bring them up because...don't see the point, you know? Like you said, people like different things and no one cares what I see (or don't see) in a pairing. Plus, the people who do like the ship have their own reasons for enjoying it and that's great, and I don't want anyone to think I'm bashing their ship or whatever.

+1

This especially pops up with Clint/Coulson, and I'm getting a little sick of it. Why do I need a fifty-page peer reviewed article to support my ship? Leave me alone already.

People can like different things but I don't see the problem with wondering why someone ships x. As long as you aren't harassing peopke about it, I don't get the problem.

And that's the point (thread name mentions ranting). Sure, I don't get all the ships out there but I never say anything since I also don't care. But there are plenty of people who are vocal about ship-bashing and they're the ones I'm talking about.

This. There are some ships where I literally can't understand where they come from because the characters have no/almost no interaction in canon.

Yeah. There are some ships I do genuinely not get but I'm not going to make a big deal about them or constantly ask the shippers why they ship them, I'm just going to carry on doing my thing and let them do theirs.

as someone who used to be guilty of exactly this thing . . . I totally agree. ship and let ship. I can't remember why it used to feel so important to me, honestly.
