She wasn't particularly phobic, she just had a big fetish for gay leather porn that she took a few steps too far. I should have taken it as a warning sign that she was a pushy domme. Likewise, people who really love Gor sometimes seem to be "leaky" BDSMers who bring a bit of that attitude out of scene.

Your original description didn't make me think she was particularly phobic - more just had bad judgement. I don't know anything about Gor and even less about the BDSM scene, but I think I know the exact type of person you're talking about - that person, who is so into their favourite thing that it doesn't even occur to them that other people aren't, and who also have no social awareness about the appropriate time and place to discuss their interests either. Sigh.

...but if someone is your lover, yes, that's pretty much an appropriate person to discuss your sexual interests with. It didn't say this was a random friend or acquaintance who brought this up out of the blue.

Should have separated those sentences out. The first sentence referred to the user's girlfriend, who I thought had bad judgment because she thought her porn interests would somehow prove she liked gay people. The second sentence was a comment about the type of people the user I was talking to said were stereotypical 'Gor' fans.
