I asked because I wouldn't personally want to read fic about living actors or whatever, but a lot of my favorite things (like Antony and Cleopatra) are technically RPF.

Well, if they've been dead for 100+ years I'm not that bothered by it (since there aren't going to be any direct relatives affected by how creepy it is). Though I don't understand why people would ship people who really existed, in any case?

My opinions on this extend to films, though? I will always find it really sketchy when films are made about celebrities who recently passed away -- it always comes off like they're only making them because the celebrities won't have a say in how they're portrayed.
