It makes me think of a time a saw a discussion on LJ about friending and friending back. I saw one person who got really ansty about having uneven Friends and Friends Of lists, and an obsesstion with having them perfectly even. I developed a mindset after seeing that that I will not let some pushy idiot with a totally cosmetic obsession ever dictate who I have on my Flist.
The same sentiment applies to Twitter - don't let anyone else dictate who you follow, and don't let cosmetic silliness like having even Follow and Follower lists make you put up with being hit with boring tweets that mean nothing to you.
