See I'm bi and it's shit like this that has made me too scared to try and pursue a same-sex relationship with anyone who identifies as gay. I know it's probably *mostly* in my head but I'm scared that if I try to get romantically involved with/ask out/whatever a gay girl I'll get dismissed as an experimenter who's a waste of her time.

I try to stand tall being bi, and admittedly I haven't personally faced any terrible rejection for it, but it's just clear to me that if a gay girl reacts that way to me, she's the waste of my time. Much easier to say in theory than swallow in practice, of course. But to me it's just as likely that I'd meet a guy with distasteful views and that would be a deal breaker even if he was still interested in me. So I don't know. I'm more interested in women as it is, but I haven't had much romance of any kind.

Unfortunately it happens both ways. When I was with a guy, he confessed that he was always a little afraid I was going to realize I liked girls better and leave him for one.
