(Anonymous) 2014-06-10 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah, we had a college shooting and a college stabbing spree [same college, actually] within a few weeks of each other about a year ago, and one of my profs actually made jokes about them in class. Then wondered why no one laughed.
But my favorite time running across it was someone I was in a club with starting making jokes about a wreck they'd seen on the way to the meeting, which was bad enough. But the fact that one of the vehicles involved seemed to have all the earmarks of human smuggling*? Yeeeah, still judging the hell out of them for it.
*I live in a city that is directly along one of the largest human trafficking routes in the world, so sadly there's a very real chance that's what it was.
