Fandom Sims

(Anonymous) 2014-06-11 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
So, I have a neighborhood of Fandom Sims. One bunch of them is made up of Family Ties characters, and it occurred to me that that could be a fun way to segue into a Batman neighborhood if I make one of the Keatons have a son Michael, who could then marry a Wayne and have a Bruce (similarly, if I ever do a Brothers & Sisters suburb and give Sarah Walker Whedon an extra kid, it would be a Joss who married a Summers and had a Buffy (or a Joyce who had a Buffy -- and maybe a Scott -- if the dice rolled that way).

But...I KNOW what Bruce Wayne's parents' names were, and I'm not sure I can get over that enough to go from Michael Keaton to Bruce Wayne, however much it amuses me.

Thoughts?

Grandparents solve everything.

So, you're suggesting Michael Keaton could have a Thomas Keaton who becomes Thomas Wayne and has a Bruce Wayne. I could work with that.

I have been doing that ever since I discovered custom sims available for download.

I had a neighbourhood in Sims 1 that ended up half LotR/Silmarillion sims, half Final Fantasy (when I shifted fandom).

Sims 2 had a number of Final Fantasy sims as well, and later I got hold of Transformer sims, with outfits that made them look like the robots of the G1 cartoon.

I did a few fandom sims in Sims 3, like my "human Transformer" characters, but I grew fond of playing the original characters of the game, like Mortimer Goth, Bella Bachelor, the Landgrabbs, Altos. Then I started creating sims like the one in my icon (Oraania) who were based on OCs that I have had in the back of my head for years.

Most likely when I get Sims 4 I will see what I really think of the latest version of the Goths (since S3 made me love Mort and Bella, so much so that Oraania's son Mareph is a barely-altered version of Mortimer, with glasses and a goatee beard), and make brand new versions of Oraania's family, once I have settled into the game properly.
