I'm writing a self-indulgent Mary Sue fic because I'm kind of hoping it will be therapeutic. Should my self-insert:

a.) be secretly (or not) in love with my favorite character from the beginning
b.) not get along with him at first but grow to care for him after spending a lot of time stuck with him

Definitely go back to the Hopper icon.

I really don't like that icon, but it's your icon so it's up to you. Whatever makes you happy.

I honestly didn't recognize you with the new icon for a minute. It was kind of a surprise.

Also... I mean, I'm not saying this icon ISN'T a work of art in its own way but it's not quite as pretty to look at, I guess.

I like the old icon better, but this one is cool too.

I'll forever associate that picture with you and I love Hopper anyway.

Maybe use your ~signature~ icon for all but Cap posts? IDK, but you can certainly use both! (And I like both, so.)

Wouldnt thisbe more appropriate in the games thread. Also keep this icon. For prwtty much the same reason other people said to go back.

i know i said some pretty mean things about hopper the other day but i've grown to love that damn icon, and i'd be happy if you'd at least use it from time to time.

I don't remember what the Hopper icon looked like. I looked at your icons and that didn't help! But then again, I pay more attention to icons than user names.

Wait, you changed your icon? What's Hopper? Huh? The only other icon I see is a blushy Steve icon.

Input on fanfic idea?

First, some backstory:

A and B are currently in a relationship in canon. Before they got together, B had mutual feelings for C but due to certain circumstances they couldn't pursue a relationship. It's been hinted, though, that the B/C relationship will eventually be revisited and they may get together later on. A has a very close friendship with D. They don't have compatible genders/orientations but there have been a few things that could be interpreted as them being romantically interested in each other anyway. It's been suggested that A and B aren't really into in each other and are only settling for each other because they're both in love with other people that they can't be with.

I want to write a fic about A/D getting together but am not quite sure how to make it happen. My first thought was for them to have a drunken threesome (set in a time before A and B got together or after they break up) with some random third person and realize during it that they have feelings for each other but I think that would be OOC.

Then my second thought was that B ends up getting pregnant, and wanting to do the right thing, A proposes. Which leads to D getting jealous and admitting to having feelings for A. Then it turns out that B had a secret one night stand (or maybe an ongoing affair, I'm not sure) with C and he's actually the father of her baby. They end up getting together, leaving A to get with D, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Is that a horrible idea? I feel like it's way too soap opera-ish. Maybe I should just make it slightly AU and have everyone's orientations match up so there doesn't need to be this ridiculousness.

What do you guys think?

you should go with the cap icon and have some other f!s regular take your hopper as default for a while for fun.
