Hey, if Disney can make the protagonist of a movie based on a book based on a German fairy tale black, why not the protagonist of a movie (very loosely) based on a Norwegian one?

I assume it's because with Princess and the Frog, they relocated the story to 20th century New Orleans instead of medieval Germany whereas Frozen was kept in its original location.

Whoever did that picture post on tumblr relocating the Snow Queen to ancient Egypt and change it to the Desert Queen has all of my love, though. I would loooove to see that movie.

They can also take a William Shakespeare play, make the protag a lion, and move it to Kenya.

I'm always veeery skeptical of "But they CAN'T" No, they made a choice, it's totally up to you if you think it was a right choice or not, but someone actually sat down and made the choice, not HAD TO.
