I'm not deeply in the OUAT fandom but despite that I'm always hearing about wank in it, so I don't think these people are going to 'ruin' the fandom. Even if you aren't exaggerating there are always going to be bad sections of fandom, you might just have to look harder to find one you like. (And some of those things you don't want anywhere near OUAT fandom...pretty sure they've already happened.)

After Swan Queen and trying to cram everything and the kitchen sink into the series, I don't know where the show has to go.

Have they reached Skellington, Black Cauldron, and Princess Leia yet?

Heh, they actually DID do a gag in which Emma was undercover in a fairytale kingdom and used "Princess Leia" as an alias.

One out of three--as anon above me said, Emma used Princess Leia as an alliance--and the creators have flat out said Emma and Hook are Leia and Han. Given that, though I don't ship Emma with anyone, Captain Swan is my first ever NOTP in 20+ years of fandom participation because I loathe Hook, I think I'll be sitting next season out. And I'm certain, given enough seasons, ABC and Disney's marketing departments will cram every Disney property in there somehow.

I'm behind and you've been answered, but I agree with the anon that said they seem to want to fit everything Disney into the show. They really like connecting the different stories and characters as well, so considering that they probably have plenty more to work with.
