I don't think her beliefs re: vaccines invalidate her Ph.D., but I also think her education should predispose her to believe in the merits of vaccination.

I think maybe I don't understand what you're getting at. :)

ok I think I see where you're coming from.

But nobody has said that her views invalidate her PhD. That really kinda seems like an overreaction and I'm not sure where you gathered that.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that those PhDs may not necessarily be invalidated, but anti-vaxxers holding those PhDs certainly do the PhD a disservice as well as the institution that granted it (assuming it's like a real college and not like some rinky-dink mail order PhD from an unaccredited school -- because if that were the case then an anti-vaxx viewpoint would make sense! Nobody said you had to know what the hell you're talking about to be intelligent.)
