Increase wifi conection

I have a desktop and a wireless router. In order to connect to the wireless router, I use these two little attenae that came with my desktop. BUt my connection is only like 4-3/5 bars. It is only a couple rooms away. Is there anything I can do (can't move router or desktop) to increase my connection? I'd just buy something but I don't even know what to buy.

I'd say buy a USB adapter. What company made your router?

I'm curious to see the replies to this because I'm currently having the same issue, except it's only like 2 bars. Someone suggested hooking the second computer to the router with a cable instead of wirelessly (although it'd have to go through the ceiling since it's a few rooms away, which sounds like a pain in the ass) but I'm not sure if that'd do anything.

Update your drivers, maybe? That's what I did when my connection (same setup as yours) was crap, until I discovered the antennae that came with my desktop gave me full bars. You can also get a new wireless adapter entirely, decent ones are very cheap, like ten bucks, and connect to any USB port of your PC.

EDIT: Something like this this or this might help a great deal. As for drivers, I use Slim Drivers to find and install updates.
