No, never, except if I'm correcting something in my original comment. If I think I've made a good point about something but it's got buried in other comments and no one is replying to it, I sometimes repeat it in another thread though.

Anon's tips for getting replies:
- Get here early. That's the biggest tip.
- Post in an active part of a thread
- Reply to a logged in user; that way you know at least one person will definitely see it because of email notifications. Also, I think people tend to be more likely to expand thread conversations starting with a logged in user, because they might want to see what that user said and who is commenting on it
- If you're really desperate, post a reply to yourself adding something to your original comment - when faced with a huge thread of unexpanded comments I think people are more likely to look at a conversation than an sole comment

But really, what gets the most replies are usually arguments/discussions that have been had many many times before, because they're issues that people love debating again and again.
