I often speculate about the first person to try various foods. Brave or desperate?

What I find even more weird/creepy is that it's selective. And that you can suddenly recall something you had "forgotten" for 10 years.

Isn't it more likely that they looked at a calf sucking on the dangly thing and thought, "It looks like it's drinking... and hey, that looks kind of like a nipple... so I guess those animals do that, too... wonder what their stuff tastes like." Not so strange that that would happen, really.

How big and weird everything is. I tend to idly research whatever tickles my fancy, for fic purposes or otherwise, and pretty much every subject, in every direction, is full of so much stuff and a truly alarming percentage of it is really weird. History, geography, physics, anthropology, whatever. Nature threw every half-baked idea it ever had at the planet and whatever managed to stick was good to go. Humans apparently took one look at nature, and decided anything it could do they could do better, and then damn well did their best in trying.

If there is a Creator, they are a crazed genius with ADHD and a warped sense of humour. For serious. There are chaos gods out there giggling insanely because this universe gives them a perpetual contact high, I absolutely believe this. It's amazing.

That smart phones are only about five years old. The technology feels like it has been here for decades. It has become so ingrained into modern society that it's like another appendage for some of us.
