The Zombie apocalypse came and went, and three years later Kieren Walker, who committed suicide, is one of many who have "Partially Dead Syndrome." He takes medication to make sure that he doesn't go "rabid" and attack the living, he wears make up contact lenses so he looks alive enough to not make living people nervous, and his sister was part of the force dedicated to killing 'rotters' after the rising. But the living don't exactly accept the undead, and there is a lot of tension between them.
I can't say much about the first season, but the second is an emotional roller coaster, in a good way. Characters suffer PTSD, most of them have a strong personality, and there was even a point where I didn't know whether to call someone an idiot or clap.
