Shameless self pimp; GoT character airtime chart

So I made this as part of my job (a fun side project with the data analysis stuff we do). It's all the main Game of Thrones characters' airtime by episode. Why? Because why not. If you like it reblog, pass it around, and my boss will be happy.

That's pretty great.

And it shows that what the show needed is more Oberyn. Then again, I'm pretty sure any show can be improved greatly with the addition of Pedro Pascal.

Yeah, Oberyn just barely missed the cut. If I added him, then I would've had to include Tywin, and then my coworker wouldn't have stopped until Ygritte and Shae and Littlefinger got columns too. So I ultimately decided to stick to book POV characters for simplicity.

If people are interested enough in this one, I have a feeling I'm going to go and do it for the past three seasons as well.

I can totally understand limiting it to just pov characters. There's a ton of characters as it is so narrowing it down is a must.

I'd be interested in graphics for the first three seasons. I wonder how they'd turn out.

I was actually surprised Sansa got as much time as she did this season. Think she got just as much time as Dany if not a little more. I'll most likely be making an updated version as soon as the last episode comes out; will probably toss in a "season total" bar too.

And thanks! Our chart making stuff also spit out some other stuff with the data I collected (I scrubbed through each episode and marked the start and end times of everyone's scenes), like Jaime appears in more scenes with other main characters than he does with himself, Theon and Jaime most often appear at the beginning of episodes while Arya and Bran most often appear at the very end... but we decided to stick to basic character airtime comparison for now.
