It always makes me crack up to hear people go, "Oh, I hate meat. I never touch the stuff." And then they chomp down on seafood like it is going out of style. They simply don't consider fish, shrimp, lobster, oysters and such as meat even though they are all animals. My mom is one of those people. She'll tell people that she's practically vegetarian but wow, can she put away shrimp. Eats it by the pound.

I'm a pragmatist rather than a purist. If it comes out from food service that way, the damage is done and sending it back just compounds the problem. But it wasn't what I ordered and it's not going to become a regular stop.

I don't east shellfish, but I do eat regular fish. My thinking is "How cruel is it possible to be to a haddock?"

Well, a lot of fishing is unsustainable, incredibly damaging to marine ecosystems, and involves bycatch of many other species, including dolphins...
