I also stopped watching the show or bothering with any of it because of the fandom and its incest obsession. It ruined it for me too. So I know where know where 13 is coming from.

It was someone I knew in real life, hardcore into that fandom, who also helped me loose interest. It can happen. I know people who won't touch Harry Potter because of the fandom, they find it creepy. *shrug*

I don't get this inability to enjoy something without being involved in fandom for it. I like lots of things that I am perfectly content to enjoy on my own, without fandom.

Some fandoms I jump into. Others I don't. Not even because I know that I may or may not like the fandom, but because of how I interact with the original whatever.

Oh, I like plenty of things without any fandom. As a matter of fact, I'm in no fandom at all right now.

Just that with Supernatural, a combination of a person I knew and the fandom just made me loose interest in it. It kinda ruined it, in a way. I usually get into shows once the fandom is dead and has been off the air for years, but that's beside the point.
