Omg fave secret of the bunch. I was in my teens when "A Simple Investigation" aired. I still think Arissa was a really sexy lady who is responsible for showing Odo he can open up. I'm glad she didn't end up dead, although it still sucked that she had to leave. (Yet a small part of me was glad, because I ship Odo/Kira like burning.)

I watched this ep with my mom, and of course as soon as it went to commercial I looked at her and went, "Bedroom eyes?"

My mom laughed and said back, "She's telling him he has sexy eyes."

I had a huge gigglefit because I thought the same thing!

Odo is my babu with those big, beautiful blue eyes. Rene Auberjonois really played them up well.

LOL this is cute! I remember I used to think that "making love" meant writing love letters. Because what other romantic activity is there in which you "make" something? My kid-brain was weird.

I think it did used to mean something more akin to wooing than sex. I once watched a little bit of an old Katherine Hepburn movie from the 30s and at one point she asks a guy, "Are you making love to me?" And I'm like, no, you're both just standing there, not touching, with all of your clothes still on.

That's not how people usually intend the term now, of course...

I remember the part in 'The Silver Chair' where Jill "made love" to the entire castle. At the time it meant that she was just being very charming but it did make me do a double take when I reread it a few years ago.

I learned the phrase in that context from Singing In The Rain (Lina's line "I can't make love to a bush!"), and was using it that way until I embarrassed myself with it in a college communications class.

D'awwww. That's cute, OP. When I was in kindergarten, I thought that when the teacher told us not to copy, it meant not to look at your paper when you wrote instead of not looking at your friends' papers. So I was trying to write my ABCs without looking at them at first.

I know I'm late, but I thought "bedroom voice" meant accents because I heard a song that said "he says to me in his bedroom voice, 'c'mon, honey, let's go make some noise'" and I asked my mom what a bedroom voice was, she thought for a second and then said, "Sean Connery has a bedroom voice."
