Wow, oh wow, that's really unfortunate. Not because of the weeaboo association, but because my first thought if I heard a non-Japanese person switching their L's and R's around would be "Westerners' idea of a stereotypical '''Asian''' accent" and my instinct would be to cringe. (I'm ABC, and I have pretty bad experiences with that.) If it's really not something you can help, I'm deeply sorry.
