I saw a thumbnail for a Youtube video called "Why Jews Support Gay Marriage." The guy in the thumbnail was dressed funny and had a big beard, so I assumed he was an Orthodox Jew and would argue in favor of gay marriage. Turned out he's Russian Orthodox Christian, but the church has denied all connection with him and urged him to repent. (I'm not naming him because frankly, he doesn't deserve any more web traffic.)

For reference, I have seen the picture for which the term "shitting dicknipples" was coined. It repulsed me less than the comments under this guy's video, praising his work and espousing hatred of Jews.

(If by "weird Internet shit" you just mean "porny crap," probably the art of Demon Man, who draws beautiful women turning into hideous monsters with male sexual characteristics. His shows up on /d/ sometimes, but it's too extreme even for that crowd. Personally, I just think it's gross.)

Are Orthodox Jews in favor of gay marriage? I thought they were pretty conservative. Aren't they the ones who remove women from newspaper photos?

I hardly ever hear religious opinions from Jews, so I have no idea what any sect of Jews thinks of gay marriage. That's why I was curious about the video.

I don't know what religions any of my friends follow, since it's never come up in conversation. I'm not sure where I would go on the Internet to research something like that, either--Wikipedia talks about the beliefs of various sects, but it tends to do so in a bland and general way, and it doesn't give as good an understanding as listening to someone who actually belongs to that sect.

I'm not offended, I just find it a bit strange. I mean clearly I don't know much about Orthodox Jews and gay marriage either. But if I clicked on a video because I was interested in it and it turned out to be something different, I would see if I could find anything about the topic I thought it was.
