Movies in 3D y/n?

[personal profile] solticisekf 2014-06-15 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I like 3D, but the person I went to the movies with prefers 2D.

2D for me, because it's cheaper.

I watched one, and the glasses are so awkward over my own glasses, plus I got a headache. It just wasn't worth the hassle.

I can't do 3D. It makes me queasy.

I've only ever been to one modern 3D movie (Avatar) and intensely disliked the glasses over my own. I honestly don't know if my headache was from the 3D, our bad seats (it was opening weekend), or the stupidity of the movie!

2D unless it's an animated movie. I wear glasses regularly so that 3D glasses are always so awkward. Plus it's more expensive and for the most part I don't notice the difference. I did like How to Train Your Dragon, Coraline, and Despicable Me in 3D.

3d hurts my eyes and gives me headaches ever since i got eye surgery. i'm ok with it since i didn't care for it anyway.

I don't mind either, really.

I prefer 2D 90% of the time because it's adds very little to the movie and it leaves me with a headache and eyes that hurt.

I like 3D, it's only about three dollars more expensive and has gotten much better over the last decade or so.

2D- I can't see the 3D properly, even with my own glasses on. I can't see the 3D on a 3D tv (sat in front of one in a shop, it just looked like the picture was out of focus, even with the special glasses on) and I can't see it on my 3DS either (again, the picture looks out of focus).

I prefer 2D. I get nothing out of seeing something in 3D and it costs less. I don't mind it if I'm going with other people who really want 3D, but I generally prefer 2D.

I haven't seen any movies in the new 3D because I can't physically go to movie theaters any more. So I can't compare.

Re: Movies in 3D y/n?

yes usually; but sometimes they are WAY too dark. The first time I saw Captain America: Winter Soldier I spent the entire movie flipping my glasses up so that I could see the colors and contrast I needed; with them on it was just a murky mess of grey.

I prefer 2D. There are only a few scenes that benefit from 3D and the rest of the time the movie is just murkier. The glasses also tend to dig into my nose.

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-06-15 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll see either, but I prefer 2D. Mostly because it's cheaper and I don't think the extra expense for 3D is worth it. (I saw both Captain America: TWS and X-Men: DOFP in 3D and honestly, barely even noticed the difference.)

It's a little jarring when you first put the glasses on, but after that...most films don't do enough with it for me to justify the price tag.

I like the idea of 3D. Expecially Animation and 3D, but then I sit down and just get so bored by it. The style never varies much, it's almost all cartoon realism all the time and we don't get to see a whole lot of range to it.
Also, after watching about one minute of 3D I don't see it anymore, so the extra money I spend is basically lost on me. And I think at the moment it stuff happening for minutes on end then.

So no, 2D it is.

Iron Man 3 was much better in 3D than 2D. Maleficent was about the same. Depends on the movie.

I really hate 3D. It gives me headaches, my eyes don't comprehend the pop out effect well, and it does not enhance my movie experience AT ALL. Yet my movie buff friend always demands that we see movies in 3D, to the point where he won't go with me unless it is 3D. Urgh..

No 3D. It's distracting and I already wear glasses.

3D gives me really bad headaches so I fucking hate it, and tbh even in the two times I did try watching a 3D film I wasn't all that blown away by it. So it's 2D or nothing for me.
