Fat acceptance, POC, and interracial relationships are negative attributes now?

There's only two characters of color and only like four fat characters. Is it fat acceptance because the show doesn't make a big deal of their weight? Is it pandering to have two dark-skinned characters? I don't get those complaints. There's still plenty of white character and the main character is white.

There is a bit of diversity among the background characters (like in the episode about the African family playing volleyball with the Gems), but among the main-ranked characters (the gems+Steven), there's two (three if you count Rose) white characters and two POC. And a lion.

Flipping out about SJWs taking over the media because this show exists is like otaku flipping out about fujoshi taking over the anime industry because Free! exists.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the pizza place owner and his family. I was mostly talking about main characters and the side characters who work at that donut place as well as at Frybo's.wait, Rose could be counted? She is white in that photo iirc.

But yeah, I get it. Just because there's one show with a bit if diversity, it totally means sjws are taking over. If sjws had anything to do with this show, it would be way more preachy imo.

Fat acceptance? Yes. A kids show telling kids that there's nothing wrong with being fat and that's being healthy is a waste of time it's not okay. Not when one in three American kids is overweight.

I don't recall getting any "being fat and unhealthy is A-OK" messages out of the show, especially considering that the fat characters are rather athletic (and one's a shapeshifter who just likes taking that form).

But I guess fat characters aren't allowed to just exist on TV without serving as a morality tale about how fatness is bad.

Because food is delicious and kids like and deserve to eat unhealthy food sometimes, you intolerable cockmongler.

(Also most kids don't have control over their own diet, and some of them have asthma meds that cause weight-gain. Hurray for you for wanting to shame children for being overweight because their parents don't (or can't, because of cost) provide the highest quality of food or because they need to breathe to live.)

People like you always greatly contributed to my health as a kid. That's why I went from a chubby kid to an underweight 12-year-old and I continue to base my value as a person on my weight and have never been able to shed disordered eating habits. I'm convinced the kids who bullied me and the adults who humiliated me did it all for the sake of my health! And it's not like mental health matters anyway, right? It's best to learn early no one will ever accept a fattie.
