Re: Httyd2
And I appreciated how Ruffnut was comfortable enough with herself to flirt with a guy she liked. Her parts were fantastic.
Re: Httyd2
(Anonymous) 2014-06-15 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)The animation was really good but I feel like they missed a lot of opportunities for brilliant sequences, like tracking the flight scenes from the side instead of behind (thereby losing the roller-coaster feeling from the first movie).
The music was overly bombastic imo-- nearly every scene had some kind of booming theme, even when it wasn't needed, and sometimes the music didn't fit the tone of the scene. This was especially disappointing because the music was perfection in the first film.
I liked Hiccup a lot and while his mom's character bothered me a bit at first I loved it when she "came alive" during the dancing scene with Stoick.
...anyway sorry to barf all that on you. I just have a lot of feelings, clearly.
Re: Httyd2
Part of the reason I like Ruff's parts were that she's not 'conventionally pretty' like Astrid, and she's comfortable enough with her sexuality to go after a guy.
A lot of the comedy was forced, I'll give you that.
