I have a slight 'sh' lisp, for some words.

Because of the shape of my bottom teeth. And since it only happens sometimes, with certain letter combinations, people sometimes assume I'm doing it on purpose, to be funny or something.

Brad Pitt has one too, which I'm pretty sure I only noticed because of mine.

Anyway, all kinds of people have speech impediments and irregularities, so you aren't alone. As for people making fun, well, people can be stupid. And the media hasn't helped by training us that it's funny (Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester, The Princess Bride's Clergyman, Big Bang Theory's Kripke).
