OMG yay! I was wondering if I should mention Life myself, but thought no one would care. I watched the show in December and think it's awesome! There are issues with it, but it's so fun, charming, and thought-provoking. I was not expecting to get so invested in it.

If you're watching the DVDs or using Netflix, I strongly suggest finding the originally broadcast eps. They are available online, and they have the original music on there. It's one of the first things that really stuck out to me while watching the show, while the DVD eps replace almost all the music with generic stuff because NBC was cheap.

As for fandom, there are a few dead communities on LJ that are still accessible (pers-pineapple is the newsletter, and there's lifetv for discussion posts and fanmade stuff). There's some fic on AO3, ff.net, and LJ (life_fic and pers-pineapple), and people occasionally still make GIF/photo/meta posts on tumblr. If you want tumblr posts I recommend ruedesarchives and jeffwinger for GIFs, lilymayloveless for photosets, and isagrimorie and bitchwhoyoukidding for meta, especially on Dani (add /tagged/life or tagged/character-name to their tumblr urls). I would wait until after finishing the show to check out the fandom to avoid being spoiled. I got semi-spoiled by checking out the fuckyeahcharliecrews tumblr, which is also a good source for GIFs and images. It didn't hurt my viewing experience too much, but I kinda wish I had held off on looking up fannish stuff.

I've been watching on Netflix amd feel pretty content with the music. I'd probably feel differently if I'd watched live though. And I agree that NBC is stupid about music and firmly believe that's why we don't have Journeyman on DVD yet.

Ah, okay, that's cool! The replacement songs were picked to match the scenes' tones anyway.

I didn't know about the lack of Journeyman DVDs (didn't watch it), but that's ridiculous! Ughh, NBC.
