A song's popularity doesn't diminish its value, including its value as applied to a character.

+1.

Granted I DO understand why one might not want to hear the same songs or bands over and over again (especially if you already associate those things with other characters or fandoms, which sometimes happens), but the songs can still make sense for the character!

Maybe my taste is just mainstream, idk, but I both like these bands and get why the music is used so often. (Even if it does make me chuckle sometimes because yes, there are a few artists that seem almost mandatory at this point.)

That said, it IS always nice finding fanmixes with unique playlists, but it isn't hard to skip or scroll past a fanmix if you don't like it.
