This is cold and I'm not proud of it, but I envy people who are heavier this time of year because the warmer it is, the more I have to layer as AC is... everywhere, and I freeze. Work, the movies, stores, you name it. I know it's dumb, my heavier friends would hate me, I just... hate that sometimes I actually can't even feel my fingers or really think because of how cold it is unless I wear winter clothes in June.

I'm sorry. I'm really not proud. But I had to get it out.

Just because you are fat don't mean you don't get cold. My fingers are fucking freezing as we speak because the AC in here is so cold. I'm wearing knee socks, a long skirt, and a hoodie...

Wtf does that even mean? I'm too old to wear socks and a maxi skirt? What bullshit is that? Guess what? My socks have sharks on them. My shirt has characters from Princess Mononoke on it. Idgaf how old I am. I wear what I want.

I'm heavy and it actually does nothing to keep me warm so...idk. If you feel bad about thinking that way, maybe try to rephrase it in your mind? Say "I wish I didn't get so cold." instead.

I understand! Today at work on one of the rare non-Friday's we get to wear jeans, I wore a jacket, a fleece jacket, then a scarf. Usually a wear leg warmers under my pants, a long shirt shirt, the fleece jacket and the scarf (my neck gets cold). It's easier to deal with in the winter since it accepted to wear the scarf. But still, so frustrating because then I'm so happy when I leave and my car is baking at 90 degrees and I'm *cozy*.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm really well insulated *cough* and still get cold hands and feet. Thick socks and wristwarmers help, even if you don't wear anything your hands.

I feel like I'm freezing to death in 60 degree weather so I don't think the weight you carry around has that much to do with it. (Not for everyone, anyway.) And my feet and hands are often cold, doesn't matter the time of year.

OMG this is me. Seriously, everyone at work questions me when I have my sweatshirt on and it's 90 degrees outside. Well, you have the AC set to 72 but it's much colder when you sit under the vent.

At my one job, I used to wear gloves inside in the morning because I couldn't work otherwise.

Hahaha, I still have to sit under throws at home and I'm not skinny.

Having more fat on you =/= you able to stay warm. In fact, because of where i live and active my time at work is, I wish I could lose a bit more of what I got so I can stand the heat a bit better.

As a chubbier lady, I can tell you I still get cold in winter. And my mum, who is quite overweight, gets much more cold than me. So don't go storing up winter blubber yet because it probably won't work.

Talk to your doctor about maybe having Reynaud's syndrome (basically a fancy name for having super bad circulation) if it's becoming a problem - they might have some suggestions. Also, gloves.

I really don't think this is a heavier person sort of thing -- I think this is an internal body temperature sort of thing. I run hotter than some heavy people I know, but colder than some skinny people I know. It's some random-ass shit.

To be fair, sometimes thin people run hot. I have a good friend who is at a healthy weight and she likes living in what feels like an igloo to me. XD And like Fingals said, sometimes heavier people run cold. There's a correlation, but also a lot of variation.

Other than that, though, I TOTALLY feel you. I get so frustrated having to wear pants and long sleeves in the summer because of everyone blasting the AC everywhere. I wouldn't even use the AC if it were up to me...I wear a heavy blanket when I'm inside at my parents' house because I stubbornly refuse to wear sweats and a sweater in the summer (especially since I'd have to change back into shorts every time I went outside)
