I'm a Southerner and I freakin' hate moonpies as well as RC cola. And Cheerwine gets me angry because I'd rather have Cherry Coke. And they never have it at the restaurants. Just freakin' Cheerwine!

Oh, and grits...no. Just no...

Haha. I hate moonpies too but I used to love RC cola as a kid (haven't had it in probably 20 years though so who knows what I'd think of it now). And I always wish I'd been able to try Cheerwine...I remember always seeing it in stores when I was a kid but I haven't seen it anywhere in probably 10+ years. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Have you tried random gas stations or drug store chains? I can usually find a Cheerwine bottle in there every now and then. I won't drink it, but I'll see one.

I like Cheerwine, but I'd rather have a Dr. Pepper.

Carolinas or Virginia? I live in Texas and I've only ever seen cheerwine at Kroger

Cheerwine is EVERYWHERE here.

Not so much back home in Southeastern Virginia. There you had Cherry Coke everywhere.

Not American, and what the hell are moonpies? And Cheerwine? And RC Cola?

And grits? That sounds kinda gross.

It took me over twenty years to bother even trying grits (nothing against them, just didn't care), but they aren't half bad. Just... a bit gritty. I like a little butter on them.

Moonpies - Basically, think two soft graham crackers with a marshmallow cream center dipped in chocolate. Now I love all those things but Moonpies, for me are nasty. They have this weird chemical aftertaste. No thanks.

Cheerwine is a regional soda for the South. It's like the alternative universe version of Cherry Coke only with less cola flavor and a higher cherry flavor.

RC Cola is another regional soda. It tastes like root beer trying to pass itself off as a cola.

It's tradition down in the American South to eat moonpies with a bottle of RC cola.

Yeah i've eaten moonpies before but they weren't called that.

IA, the ones we bought were pretty gross. the biscuit was sort of cardboardy and tasteless. then again, they were from a packet, so i imagine if they were homemade around a campfire or something they'd be pretty amazing.

eughhh i do not think i'd like cherry coke. not if it tastes anything like those maraschino cherries they stick on top of cakes.

i just looked up grits on wikipedia and the photos do not look appetizing

Cheerwine is a very NC/SC/VA thing. But I do miss it every so often, mostly when watching football games and yeah, it's not my favorite.

Ew, moonpies. I liek marshmallows, but those things are nasty.

RC Coke is ok. Never heard of Cheerwine though...we always have Cherry Coke. Mr. Pibb on the other hand is very common here when you go into a restaurant that has coke products and not pepsi.

I'm thinking Cheerwine is not a Deep South thing. I've never heard of that or seen it in LA, MS, AL, or GA.

I'm guessing it is not actually wine. :(

Moonpies and grits are gross. Cherry Coke is delicious.
