Changing things =/= improving. Adapting the script to make it sound more natural is perfectly fine. Changing characterization is never okay, you're giving the viewers a different show then. It's unfair and disloyal.

I didn't really think they made Itsuki into some sort of creepy stalker. It has been a while since I've seen the dub so I may not be remembering it correctly. And even if they did mess with his characterization, it doesn't take away from the things the dub did well or improved on.

I agree with this for the most part, I tend to watch any film in it's original language to try and stay as close to the original director's intent as possible.

I'm also a massive hypocrite cause I find some early 80s/90s shows that totally butcher the source material fascinating (Samurai Pizza Cats, and Robotech especially), though in the case of Robotech I do prefer the original shows that make it up).
