I disagree that being attractive is an actor's job, but unfortunately most casting agencies, esp. here in the US, do think that. I continue to be inspired by the British shows that have people on them that look like real people and not the cookie-cutter clones Hollywood gives us. And oddly enough, I can find a character and show interesting without it being full of people I find sexy. Hell, it's even better IMO and not just because of diversity in body type and ethnic representation and all that. I gave up on The 100 because all the young men looked alike and hell if I could figure out who was who most of the time. And if the women hadn't had different hair colors, they would be practically clones, too. That's fine on Orphan Black where it's the point. Anywhere else, it's pretty damn ridiculous.
