Just sort of randomly jumping in here, but-- a dying fandom, seriously? ~~When it was so much more fun imo than most of the JUMP series of its generation?~~

Never mind I haven't followed it in years and years. It was my first major fandom, and I hold it dear in my heart for that. ._____.

Well, it's 15 years old at this point and they'e not even playing it anywhere on television as far as I know (last I heard you could catch it occasionally at 4:30 or 5:30am on Cartoon Network and that was years ago.) Also, the manga is coming out painfully slow, I think they're just about through the Dark Tournament.

It's gaingin very few new fans, unlike newer animes (Bleach and Naruto), and many have left the fandom for other fandoms.

I hold it dear to my heart as well.

... holy crap, than this is totally dating myself, because I was into the series wayyyyy back in. Like. Middle school. XD Shows how much attention I pay, when I didn't know the manga had been licensed.

To be fair, Bleach and Naruto are still ongoing, but -- damn. YYH, what nostalgia. XD

Not so much the 'Marry me' part... Just the 'Yes, totally agreed.'
It's actually part of the reason I stay out of that fandom, the "I've been here longer" arguments I've seen- scare me.

It's funny, but for the first few years I was in the fandom, I met nothing but awesome fans who I've made some great friends out of. It's only been in the last 6 months that I've seen excessive amounts of wank, and it's really disappointing me.

YYH is a dying fandom, it wouldn't hurt for everyone to be nicer to each other and not play their "I'm in the fandom longer than you so I KNOW what's canon" blahblahblah thing. I've seen older fans be downright rude and dismissive toward younger fans.

I probably wrote 14 in my sleep and don't remember.

If you wouldn't mind suggesting a good community, maybe I'll take another look. Suppose one more person couldn't hurt, right?

I mostly stayed away because of the drama. I was in the fandom... What felt like ten years ago, but forgot about it and very recently made a short and failed attempt to go back.
After FMA fandom, I realized that... sometimes it's more stress than it needs to be, and that seems to be a universal problem. Fandom is always full of fanbrats and elitists.

I do, personally, tend to just read fic and lurk quietly...
but I have noticed even just observing - especially in this community - that older fans frowning upon younger fans based on when they got into the series- seems quite common a practice.

As for writing the secret in your sleep...
All I have to say is, marrying yourself ought to be quite interesting then!

What's sad is that there aren't really any good YYH communities right now.

yuyuhakusho has very light traffic,

yyh_fanfics is dead now, and

yyhyaoi is actually elitist headquarters I tried to help out by being a moderator and the old mod freaked out, funny enough, he still hasn't taken my name down from the profile page.

yuyu_doujin is the only one worth looking into.

I thinking about starting my own comm, but if you'd like, feel free to friend me, although it says my journal is inactive, I'm still around and I link to a lot of fic and fanart and other stuff. I also subbed the bonus footage on YouTube and I do AMVs. However, my journal is mostly yaoi-based. (I ship Hiei/Kurama primarily, but I really like ALL the pairings, even the crack ones) If yaoi isn't your thing, no worries, you don't have to friend. But I have a nice little circle of non-wanky fans that love the boys and like to ship them. Feel free to join.

Thank you very much for the links, hopefully I'll be able to look around at those communities tomorrow. I definitely don't have a problem with yaoi, and Hiei/Kurama was the first pairing I really supported, actually...

No problem whatsoever. I'll friend you now, before I go to bed (why does the internet keep me up so late?) And many of my friends are avid FMA fans, so you won't be alone over there.

I do love Hiei/Kurama, but that show just has such a variety of pairings, I end up writing about everyone, including Kurama/Itsuki. I KNOW, CRACK.

I think I like Yusuke's pose much better. And you are the glue that holds the fandom together. Fuck all those old BNFs, at least #14 lets us know that we're not alone in our opinions...
