not!secret: Textless icons are always better and they look a lot more beautiful instead of the text icons. Most text icons look like crap and it's a pain to do. That's why I tend to make more textless icons than text ones.

Eh, I do prefer textless most of the time, and tons of iconmakers (myself often included) don't make text look very good, but always is a pretty strong word there. I mean.

...As an icontest participant, I have to disagree. Most winning icons have text on them and they look great with it. Not all of them, certainly, but a fair amount. Over usage of textures on the other hand, I see it everywhere and I don't understand how those kinds of icons can place.
