Meh, if you're into the raging boners and orgasms every ten seconds that constitute a lot of male-created 'shameless porn', different strokes, I guess. I don't think the ladies are any less shameless for dragging it out. It's not 'modesty' or anything, foreplay really does it for a lot of us.

I take it to extremes - I've read so much damn PWP and even regular plotty E(xplicit)-rated fic that if the author doesn't spend like at least 3 chapters subtly building the will they/won't they and/or sexual tension between the two characters I am hoping will bang, the fic does nothing for me.

That said, fic where the characters go straight for the big guns always does relatively much less for me than fic where the characters mess around for a while and make smoochy faces at each other.
