Well sci-fi I'd definetly recommend either, though probably both, the original Deus Ex (if you don't mind the graphics) and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, both have their ups and downs but I like them equally. Though if you get Human Revolution get the Directors Cut as well, it shouldn't be too much, typical non-special sales have it go for $5. There's the legend of Grimrock for the way-back square tile based dungeon crawler with modern graphics that's pretty good. Both Mass Effect 1 and 2 for RPG and Action, respectively. A lot of other fantasy games like Dragon Age, The Witcher, and Dark Souls, though I haven't played much of the first two and Dark Souls is sorta an acquired taste. If you don't mind FPS's, E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy is a rather interesting Action-RPG cyberpunk game. You can also get Morrowind when it's on sale and get the mods that use data files from Morrowind to put it into either Oblivion or Skyrim, but the Oblivion one is much more developed. Most of everything I mention will most likely be on sale on the front page at some point.
