You and so many others.

I feel that way about the first one, too :) The second one, not really.

Nah, nothing ridiculous here. Keep loving it, it's totally worth it.

Nothing wrong with that, I love it too.

Execution's more important than originality, I think.

This. That movie might not be original, but it's charming.

The first time I watched it I didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. I knew exactly where it was going but I had fun getting there. Also I totally fell for the "dragon is like a cute pet" angle with Toothless! It's one of my favourite quiet rainy afternoon kind of films.

*shrug* No new stories under the sun and all that. It's how you tell it that makes the difference and this one is fun.

A story doesn't have to be particularly original to be dear to your heart. I knew where the story in HTTYD was going, very little actually surprised me, but it hit just the right mix of factors to become one of my favorite movies ever.

Toothless as adorable kitten was pretty much all the excuse I needed to love it.

Also, see: "Greater than the sum of its parts."

It's all about the Toothless.

the first time I watched it I felt kind of 'meh' about the whole thing. last year I really got into it

Late to the show, but I think that people really underestimate the character growth and the darkness. It's a pretty layered movie.

Also, Toothless.
