Unusual/Crack Theories

(Anonymous) 2014-06-21 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Please list the fandom in the reply title so it doesn't get TOO confusing. Inspired by reading the WMG thread at TV Tropes. Fandoms can be closed.

Babylon 5

Londo was pregnant with G'Kar's child while G'Kar was his bodyguard on Centuari Prime. That's why G'Kar was eating so much; he needed enough energy to start lactating for the infant's move to his pouch after it was born.

(And then Londo told the Drahk to fuck off and crushed the Keeper under his boot and it was probably a really hot scene because I'm into that and then everyone lived happily ever after.)

Yeah, I dunno. I came up with it a few weeks ago and I'm not even really into mpreg but I like the idea of Londo being pregnant with G'Kar's child, as opposed to G'Kar being pregnant which is the typical way the fandom goes. I also like imagining Timov's reaction to the reveal that her husband is pregnant and in a romantic relationship with his Narn bodyguard, whom he used to loath fiercely.

Nothing will ever convince me that Nintendo isn't intentionally trying to ruin Metroid for US fans, because the series has traditionally been more popular in the west than in Japan (and Nintendo, like the rest of the Japanese games industry, is traditionally xenophobic and provincialist, which means they don't care about the US market as much and therefore don't want to be bothered with a series that isn't as popular in Japan as Zelda and Mario are) and was also created by Gunpei Yokoi who became persona non grata in Nintendo corporate culture (which would also explain why they stopped using the "Game Boy" title for their handhelds.)

Why is he considered persona non grata? What happened?

Virtual Boy happened. It was a spectacular failure and he was blamed for it.

Oh yeah. I remember that now.

Fringe / Pushing Daisies

Ned is a cortexiphan kid. It explains everything. He wears almost exclusively black/white/grey and the exceptions are usually undercover scenarios. He developed powers as a child, has a mysterious childhood with some unexplained gaps in it, and his biggest fear is being discovered and turned into a scientific experiment-- which could totally be interpreted as a repressed memory (huge recurring theme on Fringe) of the cortexiphan trials.

That's incredible.

Friendship Is Magic crossovers

(Anonymous) 2014-06-21 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Two awesome crossoverish theories from a friend of mine.

1) The parody series Friendship is Witchcraft is the "real" pony universe, and FiM is an alternate universe where the robots won the war.

2) All ponies are wizards, in the Young Wizards universe sense of the word. A pony's cutie mark is his or her name in the Speech.

I've never seen FiW, so I can't say anything about that one, but I love the idea of the Young Wizards crossover.

Jake 2.0/Covert Affairs

[personal profile] hands4healing 2014-06-21 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually my ex-boss's theory, but he's not into blogging, would never see this, etc., etc., etc.

The nanobots destroyed Jake's eyesight, but provided him with almost superpowers regarding hearing, 'radar imaging', and memory. Auggie Anderson is Jake 'reborn' into a position where he can use those powers for good.
