6.: I find it ridiculous when people allow the stupidity of the fandom to effect their thoughts on the series itself but whatever. Sorry to hear our fandom annoyed you so much.
Where is all of this epic wank going down, though, and how do I keep missing it that apparently is pushing fans away one by one? D8

I mean, I know that the wank happens, I've seen some of it but most of the wank I've seen seem to be more personal battles as opposed to mass fandom wank. So why does it effect other people who are not directly involved, unless this person was? =/ I mean really, the fandom is quite tame on a whole compared to other fandoms I've been in/seen.

I wish I could feel bad or sorry for the people who are pushed away by fandom but in the end all I really have to say to them is, "CRY MOAR."

I've only seen one bitchfest, and that was a KuroTomo vs KuroFay battle in a pairing thread at TC.net forums. Even then it barely lasted. My thing with this whole, "I don't like it because the fans ruin it" thing seems to me it was also a case where the text wasn't enough to keep one reading.

Well, for me, it was clamp_rants that pissed me off at first. Then many of the popular fandom opinions clashed with mine, and I did get some crap for it (it was greatly my fault too, but not entirely). The ensuing teeth-grinding made me realize...I didn't actually like the stories all that much. In fact, several key aspects of the canon were huge pet peeves of mine that I'd never noticed.

So yeah, in a way, it was fandom that killed CLAMP for me.

See, that at least is a good reason and does relate back to not really liking the actual material all that much.
It's the people who solely blame fandom and their antics for their hate of a series.
