Well, in the OP's own words, being 20+ and still caring about fiction (i.e, being in fandom) is clearly deemed inferior to "doing something useful". Go cure cancer is sarcasm -- stupid, unironic, but still sarcasm. Why are you still fucking around in fandom is what the OP actually means.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I did not "jump on the wank wagon". I read that secret and had a nasty reply all ready to go before I even read the 4+ pages of comments dissing the OP. Like most other people, I too saw petulant, hypocritical whining. If she did actually mean it sarcastically, she failed at sarcasm, and she certainly didn't do anything to clear the air when she responded (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/103173.html?thread=22785285#t22785285).
