I am trying to learn German using duolingo.com. It is fun. Though I am rather shy on actually using it with anyone who speaks German. I want to but I afraid to fall flat on my face. Which, I know, is silly seeing how most people are happy if you try to speak their language.

It's a great site, isn't it? Feels less like lessons and more like a quiz game. How far are you? I just started adverbs.

It's been awhile since I actually did anything on Duolingo, so I'm reviewing things I already did. Currently, I'm up to conjugations of haben. I'm curious, why did you choose German?

I took it in high school. Because I thought French would be too hard and being a Puerto Rican who didn't speak Spanish almost at all, I dreaded taking Spanish because I could just imagine the family harping on me. "That's what passes as Spanish these days? That's not how we say it. Let me talk to your teacher." No, no, no. So, it was German for me.

I'm on there trying to learn French. Seems I've forgotten 99% of what I learned in school.

I know that feeling. I took a year of German in college, and I've forgotten so much. I'd have lost more vocabulary were it not for the music I listen to.

I adore that site. It's a great review/expansion of my German and I'm doing Italian from scratch.
