I just found Asami sympathetic. I guess it was the fact that her father's betrayal helped to flesh out her character and gave us more to work with. Whereas, for example, Mako and Korra kissing when Bolin liked her was just played for laughs so it made it difficult for me to take his character seriously. That said, it is disappointing to hear that not much more was done with Asami's character. I guess this just confirms that my decision to give up on the show early in Season 2 was the right one.

Sucks a bit, though, because I love Avatar the Last Airbender and all its characters to pieces.

(If you love the Korra show, though, more power to you! It just wasn't for me.)

Same here; I didn't even bother with Season 2 of Korra because I was underwhelmed by the first. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. A:TLA will always be superior to me. Its shoes are just too large to fill, and I found the characters far more engaging.
