Is it okay to hate something that's usually considered a nuisance at worst more than something that has a significant negative effect on billions of people every day? :/

Your rational understanding of the relative severity of the two things and your emotional reaction to them don't have to be the same -- especially if you are personally confronted with the trivial thing more often.

Yes. One of the things has direct influence on you (I assume), the other thing is something that you have no control over, and thus hating it is an exercise in futility and frustration.
