I'm not actually talking about myself (at this point at least), but if we post a thread that was clearly quite late in the game, can we repost it here? Or does that look desperate for attention?

Yeah. People do it from time to time and it's never bothered me at all.

Why not? It shows that a poster is aware about the optimal posting times and interested in the topic a day later, which are great things.
