The thing is I would object to the version on the left if they published it today. It would be nice if they'd give us a cheesecake shot of the guy the same way they highlight her legs, but it's still a lot better than the version on the right even in a vacuum.

It's not like they didn't improve over 20 years. They actively went backwards.

DC-Comics: Actively making things worse since.....er....when was Didio hired? It isn't just that they are actively targeting 40 year old guys, it is they are now actively targeting the worst stereotypes of 40 year old comic reading guys. All the stereotypes that people hate on TBBT for, the basement dwellers, the 40 year old virgins, the weird guy whose face is like 90% consumed by his own beard and hasn't washed since 1985. If DC insists on targeting middle aged guys, can't they at least put out material for 40 year old normal guys?

Didio was VP of Editorial in 2002, became VP Executive Editor in 2004 (a lot of people blame him for whatever they didn't like about Infinite Crisis.) And then he became co-publisher in 2010, a position I'd really like him to not be in.

I'd generally agree with this comment but "the guy" in this case is Dick Grayson and he's probably the one male character you can't point at and say "needs more beefcake". Pretty much. Don't forget what Devin Grayson did with the character. (On top of changing her name to that in the first place...)

I meant more that would be the only way this specific scene could be improved. Not so much as a general observation.
