Well, yeah, why would something need to be deep and mature to be enjoyable? Movies don't have to feel like homework or be overly complicated to be liked, they don't even need to be taken seriously. It feels pretty awkward when elitism shows up about stuff like this; it's just something to do for fun, hobbies aren't that big a deal.
