It's about these four kids. One is in a coma, and the other three are Associates of Death, which means they help usher the dead along from this world to the next. To be an Associate of Death you have to:
A. Die
B. For someone else
C. Who you don't like.

They have to find out who put the fourth person in a coma. Meanwhile, she has to come to terms with her history with one of them (he took a bullet for her), all while someone is kidnapping Associates.
