I agree, though I don't think it hurts to mention that you were inspired by waht hey did.

(It did just strike me that while such acknowledgements seem pretty common in the visual arts, it's not so much in otHer media. (And I say this because I just came across an RP blog whose writer is getting accolades for ideas that she "borrowed" from me. >.< ))

I didn't think about it from this perpective. I absolutely love when a fic author lists a few fics that inspired them in a. notes, though it's quite rare. No one ever took my ideas (lol, I wonder why), so I can only imagine the frustration. And you can do nothing without coming acoss as presumptuous.
