I'm not so sure about her being the adviser. *scratches head* Picard was quiet autonomous. I don't remember her being right VS the Captain being wrong. (or Wesley being wrong). You know what, I just realised that the characterization in season one is a bit all over the place and changes from ep to ep.

Oh, Pulaski and Picard definitely butted heads a few times. There was the issue of Picard's cardiac operation, and then there was the dying people on Drema IV where Picard was all Prime Directive and Pulaski thought the Enterprise should help them, etc.
