So, I'm gonna be on the Radio F!S, and man I hope I won't sound like an idiot.

It was actually a sort of spontaneous thing. I was called up by this dude last week, chatted on the phone for about half an hour, then a few days later he asked if I was willing to be interviewed and I sort of said "yes" on a whim. So today I spent an hour in the studio (which will be cut down to 3 minutes real time) and I had a LOT of fun, but I really hope I won't sound like an idiot. Well, at least I managed not to swear!

(And it's weird, because I'm more used to interviewing people than vice versa)

I've never actually heard the show before. But, from what I understand it's people with foreign roots basically giving out some travel tips, and telling a bit about the differences between the culture of their heritage and Belgium (which is where I live). Belgium has got this thing about "50b years of migration" going on this year, so it might be related. So, basically me babbling about the differences between Czechs and Belgians and hoping it even makes sense. (I'm also an odd choice for the show, actually, because I'm only half Czech - which I told the guy, but he liked the way I talked apparently).

That's an interesting topic, and a really unique way for Belgium to focus on their immigrant population. Very cool.

Yeah, they try. Generally the media (as pretty much everywhere) are more left. But last elections were sort of a shift to the right in a few European counties, including Belgium, so we'll see how it goes. I feel like there's more anti-foreign sentiment than a decade ago.

Congrats to you! At first I thought there was a radio version of F!S which sounded all kinds of awesome but logistically weird. Do you describe the image and then talk about your secret? Since no one can see you no know who has the secret...
