Both sides are drawing from the same poisoned well tbh.

Yup. Basically, an inability to admit that we are tiny people on a tiny planet and there is a huge amount of things that we just don't know.

While I agree with your first statement, it's wrong to assume all Christians are anti-science, I seriously resent this idea that belief in God/supernatural/magic/etc is somehow equal to active non-belief in it, in terms of absurdity. There are many things we don't know, but a science-minded atheist is not at fault for disbelieving in the supernatural.

The mindset of hating each other is annoying. But one side actually is within the realm of science, the other is not.

+1. The false equivalency there annoys the crap out of me.

they're not equal at all.

personally, i see them as two different pairs of "glasses" that you can put on.

while science is more factual... i feel like religion is more akin to art or music. it's symbolism, myth, metaphor, and paradoxes.

and it annoys the shit out of me when i see fellow religious people pulling out scientific articles to validate their worldview. (creationists are the worst for this.) why do you need validation?! it's NOT SCIENCE, it never will be science, PLEASE STAHP.
